Mission The Big
Island Dance Council supports, promotes and encourages the art of dance on
the island of Hawai'i through education, classes, performances and
networking.
Purposes 1. To develop,
foster, and promote quality dancing on the Big Island;
2. To provide
an opportunity to all people of the county to engage in the art of
dancing;
3. To assist
in the presentation of dance performances of high artistic
quality;
4. To
contribute to the dance and movement education of the
community-at-large;
5. To act as
an information source for persons and organizations engaged in Movement
activity;
6. To receive,
administer, and expend funds from governmental, community, and

The Big Island Dance
Council (BIDC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in
1975. Each year BIDC touches the lives of thousands of Hawai'i residents
through dance education programs in schools, guest artist workshops,
professional and student performances and community service projects. A
volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of Big Island dancers, educators
and community leaders, run the organization. | |||||||||||||
